What will you be financing?

Clock (Re)Cycle came from the will to bring more vintage watches to the market. By integrating reduction, recycling, and re-using as processes in every step of its activity, the company intends to offer its customers the possibility of buying luxury watchmaking in a more sustainable way.

The funds raised through this campaign will be used for:

  • working capital to purchase watches and parts.

The company's goal is to encourage the reintroduction of watches into the market, against mass production and new cycles of pollution: preventing the practice of "abandoning without recycling".

What is the impact?

Direct

  • Waste reduction through recycling and reuse: by renewing between 22 and 30 vintage and/or second-hand watches with this amount of funding, Clock (Re)Cycle makes it possible for parts that were in the process of being discarded to be used again in their original form after undergoing repair or refurbishment. An additional 6 models, completely recycled, have already been purchased for resale.
  • Promoting circularity: by promoting an increase in the lifespan and cycles of use of watches - parts made from raw materials generally extracted through polluting methods - Clock(Re)Cycle proposes that even luxury watchmaking can exist in a more sustainable way. If not reused gold pieces could return to the commercial circuit, but steel pieces would be discarded in the form of waste (that is difficult to recycle since the steel you can find in watches has components that rattle radioactivity).

Indirect

  • Carbon footprint reduction: with the initiative of planting one tree for each watch sold, Clock(Re)Cycle aims to reduce the negative impact of CO2 emissions from the deliveries of each piece. The planting of the trees will take place in the Sousa Valley region, and it is estimated that about 150 trees will be planted during 2022.
  • Promoting sustainability in the luxury sector: being a company that has no direct competition by offering luxury and collectible products from recycling and reusing vintage and second-hand products and pieces, Clock(Re)Cycle encourages and promotes the adoption of more responsible practices in the luxury industry.
