Photovoltaic installation for self-consumption.

Description

This campaign's promotor is PlenoEnergia, a free-market energy trader active in the renewable energy sector.

The project consists of a refinancing operation for the installation of a photovoltaic solar electricity production unit for self-consumption at the Centro Social e Paroquial de São Martinho das Amoreiras, in the municipality of Odemira, in Portugal. This project, already in operation, included the installation and rental of a photovoltaic plant made which allows for reducing the electricity bill and avoiding CO2 emissions into the atmosphere:

  • 65 panels (450W) - total power 29,25kWp
  • Heat pump - 15,5kW
  • 9 batteries (4,2 kWh capacity) - total capacity 37,8kWh storage

Between 2019 and 2020, PlenoEnergia installed the solar panels of the following projects financed by Goparity: Landal I, Landal II, Bright Future Ramada, Solar Nursing Home, and Solar Metalworks Leiria. Subsequently, the company was the promoter of 8 campaigns: Solar ContainerSolar NursingSolar for SocialSolar for all, Solar Social Pleno, Solar Pleno, Solar Pleno II, and Solar Pleno III.

The Impact

Direct

  • Contributing to the decarbonization of the economy, by avoiding the emission of CO2: with an estimated clean energy production of over 46.4 MWh annually, the solar plant will help avoid the emission of more than 6.3 tonnes of CO2 per year, equivalent to planting 289 trees.

  • Cost reduction for the final client: the energy production for own consumption will energy reduce costs, enabling the association to direct resources to its core activity. The decentralized energy production through renewable sources, close to the consumption site, helps to avoid distribution costs, making this a more competitive option than reverting to the national grid. Furthermore, the decreased dependency of the organisation on the national grid, makes it less vulnerable to price fluctuations and fiscal charges.

Indirect

  • Improvement of the organization's core services: the cost reduction in electricity expenses enables the association to improve their services for the community.
