Description

This campaign aims to finance three projects in the central and southern regions of Portugal, installing photovoltaic solar power plants for self-consumption at SuperPoiares- Supermercados Lda (Intermaché) and Mario José Mestre, Lda (Padaria do Rosário) and Herdade Mário Mestre. The plants will feature over 430 photovoltaic panels, with a total installed capacity of 240 kWp and storage capacity, combining customer comfort with their vision of sustainability and self-sufficiency.

The plant installed at Intermarché de Poiares will have 294 modules and an installed capacity of 160 kWp:

The plant installed at Herdade Mário Mestre will have 54 modules and an installed capacity of 30 kWp:

The installation and operation of the solar panels is managed by Luz Verde, who will be the owner of the panels. The project also includes a shading structure in the parking lot of SuperPoiares- Supermercados Lda, where the panels will be installed. During the first 10 years, the panels are leased by the clients. After this period clients will acquire them. The panels enable significant energy savings for the companies, as well as a reduction in electricity costs.

The promoter has already raised €326,500 through Goparity to finance solar energy projects (Solar Car Wash, Tintas Solares Felgueiras, Intermarché Solar, Intermarché Solar II, Intermarché Solar Felgueiras) and has been the installer of many other projects financed through the platform.

The Impact

Direct 

• Contribution to the decarbonisation of Portugal, avoiding CO2 emissions: With a total production of clean energy of over 380.7 MWh per year, the three solar plants will avoid the emission of about 327.5 tonnes of CO2 per year. This is equivalent to the CO2 absorption of over 14 800 trees.
• Cost reduction for the end customer: decentralized energy production through renewable sources, close to the place of consumption, helps to avoid distribution costs, this being the most competitive option. In addition, the company's lower dependence on the national grid makes it less vulnerable to price fluctuations and tax charges.

Indirect

• Promoting sustainable business: the project developed for Intermarché and Mario José Mestre, Lda is an example of the applicability of solar power for any business, and in this case serves as a benchmark to similar industries, an important step towards sustainability for businesses in Portugal.

About Frontrow Lda

LuzVerde (Frontrow Lda) is part of a group with over ten years of experience providing energy services. Based in Northern Portugal, its main activity is to develop solar energy solutions for self-consumption for household, industry, and commerce. The company provides the following services:

• Technical evaluations to measure the estimated energy consumption of the contractor and to evaluate the characteristics of the location where the plants will be installed.
• Installation of the photovoltaic panels.
• Help with the licensing and certification processes.
• Monitoring, maintenance, and operation after the installation in order to guarantee that the panels are kept at the highest production capacity possible.
• Support the project financing.
