Landal’s Community Centre is launching an energy optimization project covering renewable energy self-production and the substitution of their current, traditional lighting system by a LED system, which is 63% more efficient. The solar power plant has a 10 kWp capacity and its estimated annual production will cover 37% of their current consumption. Amount to be raised through Goparity is 24000,00€.
This project will allow more environment sustainability and energy efficiency. By substituting 7,6 MWh of the current energy consumption by a renewable energy and by decreasing 11,6 MWh of their lighting consumption, the decrease of CO2 emission per year would drop by 4 tons. The benefit to the planet is equal as planting 182 trees.

Landal Community Development Centre is a charity, founded in 1997. Its mission is to fomente social solidarity, local development by providing high quality services to families and citizens in na integrated na sustainable way, in cooperation with other entities, as a way to improve the life quality of citizens and promote equal opportunities. Its activities go from a Day Care for elderly people, Home Support, a Social Shop, Professional Training and a Rural Museum targeted at the whole Landal Parish and its surrounding population. It is an Institution located in the Parish of Landal in the village of Rostos, 24 km from the host city of the municipality of Caldas da Rainha.
The Landal Community Development Centre is a sound institution with stable accounts (over 43.000€ in bank deposits and 1 M € in fixed assets). They have been profitable in recent years. Their income mainly comes from the fees paid for the services they offer (nursing home, home support service, social shop and rural museum) and from donations from citizens and companies.
