VIBES & BEATS has been a dynamic actor in Portugal's entertainment world. They are now one of the largest national concert producers and manage events in many of the country's main venues.   

The funds raised through this campaign are intended to co-finance the production of the 6th edition of the North Festival. The next edition, which will take place on May 24, 25 and 26, 2024, will be marked by a major novelty: a new location, Serralves Park, Oporto.

This is the promoter's sixth campaign, after having raised 950,000 euros through Vibes&Beats I, II, III, IV, and V to leverage costs before shows, which were later settled by the ticket sellers (usually 15 days after the events).

The event has seen sustained growth; in the last edition, the festival welcomed more than 50,000 people over three days. Tickets for 2024 are now available and in addition to the new "address", the North Festival has confirmed the first headliner for this edition: Keane (May 25). The English band returns to Portugal in the same year that they celebrate two decades since their first album.

To date, the promoter produced 24 shows in the country's largest venues:

• Eros Ramazzotti with 2 dates at Altice Arena,
• The Waterboys with 3 shows at the Coliseums of Lisbon, Porto, and Casino do Estoril,
• Barões da Pisadinha with 2 dates at Super Bock Arena and Sagres Campo Pequeno,
• Brasil Vibes at Altice Arena,
• North Festival with 3 dates at Alfândega do Porto,
• DJAVAN with 3 shows at Coliseu de Lisboa and Super Bock Arena.
• TRABALHADORES do COMÉRCIO S at the Estoril Casino,
• ROCK à MODA do PORTO with 2 Super Bock Arena dates,
• TITANS at the Altice Arena,
• SILVA with 2 dates at the Super Bock Arena and Sagres Campo Pequeno,
• THE ELTON EXPERIENCE with 2 dates at Super Bock Arena and Sagres Campo Pequeno
• LUAN PEREIRA with 2 dates at the Super Bock Arena and Sagres Campo Pequeno.

At the moment there are 3 shows with tickets for sale as well as the 6th edition of the North Festival. The promoter's goals are to create new concepts of events, concerts, and festivals, where music is not the only focus of the public.

The Impact

Promotion of cultural economic activity: strengthening trade in cultural goods and services provides stimulation for local and national markets, which in turn provides employment opportunities and promotes local production. This is especially important after the cultural sector suffered serious setbacks by the Covid-19 pandemic in the last two years, and starts now to recover. The financing of Vibes&Beats enables:

• Maintenance of 7 full-time formal jobs
• Boost of the national cultural industry: partnering with around 80 other national companies for the realization of the events – including marketing, communication, and structures services, it encourages the cultural infrastructure.

Promotion of cultural diversity and heritage: the realization of the events promotes and recognizes national artists, cultural production, and heritage, and by bringing international artists to tour it contributes to an appreciation of cultural diversity.

Guarantees

So far they have worked with artists such as BUSH, Bastille, Franz Ferdinand, Emir Kusturica, Caetano Veloso, The Prodigy, Guano Apes, Gogol Bordello, Skunk Anansie, Natiruts, Erick Morillo, Gal Costa, Gilberto Gil, Zélia Duncan, Simone, Zeca Baleiro, Djavan, GNR, Moonspell, selling out some of the largest venues in the country.

CEO

The founder and CEO, Jorge Veloso, has 27 years of experience in touring and event production. Having founded his first company at the age of 19, his professional journey includes shows in 25 countries and 4 continents. From touring and representing Portuguese artists to managing tours of international names like Caetano Veloso, Seu Jorge, The Waterboys, or Ivete Sangalo. It is also important to note the production of major productions of the Champions League, UEFA Cup, and carnivals in several European cities.

Closed lineup and tickets available for North Festival 2024!

This year's North Festival - co-funded by the Goparity community - will take place at Serralves Park in Porto on 24, 25 and 26 May. Alejandro Sanz, an important figure in contemporary Latin music, takes to the stage on the festival's opening day. Also performing on 24 May are Myke Towers, Maria Becerra, Iñigo Quintero and Nininho Vaz Maia. Keane, who return to Portugal in the same year that they celebrate two decades since their first album, which will be reissued in 2024, will perform on 25 May, as will Tom Odell, Birdy, The Reytons and Plaza. On 26 May, Nelly Furtado, the Portuguese-Canadian singer, will return to Portugal. On the final day, you'll also have the chance to see concerts by Claudia Leitte, Bell Marques, Grupo Menos é Mais and WIU.

Also noteworthy is the Sunset Stage, which will feature Rich & Mendes, Mexican duo Brolorizo, Bitch Boys, James Flower, Riot and Progressivu and the partnership with Re-Food, which will collect surplus food for redistribution.
