• Contribution to the decarbonisation of Spain, avoiding CO2 emissions: With a total production of clean energy of 2 352.24 MWh per year, the solar plant will avoid the emission of about 282.27 tonnes of CO2 per year. This is equivalent to the CO2 absorption of 12 830 trees. 
• Cost reduction for the end customer: energy production through renewable sources, owned by the consumer lowers the costs of the electricity consumed and a lower dependence on the national grid making it less vulnerable to price fluctuations and tax charges. 

Indirect 

• Increasing access to renewable energy consumption: Comunidad Solar has developed an innovative model for renewable energy – remote self-consumption. In Spain, much of the population and SMEs don’t dispose of a roof over which solar panels can be installed. They are therefore excluded from the option of traditional self-consumption installations. To solve this, Comunidad Solar acquires big solar, wind, and hydroelectric plants and sells to clients the energy production rights of the plants. With this solution, the clients don’t pay for the energy, only cover transportation, tolls, and taxes. This concept was initiated by Comunidad Solar in 2023, and 750 people are subscribers of this solution.

Founded in 2018, Comunidad Solar is a Madrid-based company created to make renewable energy accessible for all. 

Comunidad Solar is changing the way people access renewable energy, by managing renewable energy installations such as solar parks and hydroelectric plants where they sell memberships to individuals and businesses.

Members can buy their membership in these installations and, in return, receive energy at zero cost per kWh. This model provides financial benefits and empowers individuals to contribute to the shift towards sustainable energy, irrespective of space constraints for personal installations. 

Comunidad Solar has a team of over 30 experts pioneering remote solar energy in Spain, leading the company to launch the first energy community in Spain combining the power of a Solar Farm and a Hydroelectric Power Plant. The plan is to include the power of a wind turbine as well. Currently, the promoter's community comprises over 2182 members, who collectively produce 96% of the energy they consume. This makes it Spain's largest remote energy community.

The company has more than 10 partners who invest time and knowledge to fulfill the vision of creating the largest energy community developer in Spain. These partners include Circle Energy, a company with over 30 years of experience developing renewable-energy assets in Europe.
