Refinancing a photovoltaic solar plant for hardware company.

Description

This campaign aims to refinance a photovoltaic solar power plant for Mecanizados Llanos, a common and customized metal hardware company.

Averta Capital, the project promoter, owns and operates the PV solar central in an ESCO model. This way, Mecanizados Llanos will benefit from renewable energy at a lower cost without any investment. The model allows companies to accelerate toward energy transition while conducting regular operations. ´

The photovoltaic solar plant has more than 220 solar panels, with a total power of 99 kWp. The plant will produce enough energy to power 63% of operations, a major energy efficiency initiative to increase self-sufficiency and sustainability for Mecanizados. The plant installers are Ecovergy.

Mecanizados Llanos produces hardware in materials such as steel, aluminum, copper, brass, and others, offering a wide range of products to its customers. It has been operating in Barcelona since 2004.

The Impact

Direct impact

  • Contribution to the decarbonisation of Spain, avoiding CO2 emissions: With a total production of clean energy of 122,7 MWh per year, the solar plant will avoid the emission of about 16,8 tons of CO2 per year. This is equivalent to the CO2 absorption of 762 trees.
  • Cost reduction for the end customer: decentralized energy production through renewable sources, close to the place of consumption, helps to avoid distribution costs, this being the most competitive option. For this client, it represents a reduction of more than 63% of the energy cost. In addition, the company's lower dependence on the national grid makes it less vulnerable to price fluctuations and tax charges.

Indirect impact

  • Promotion of renewable solar energy: Averta Capital provides different integrated solutions for the electricity needs of each client and allows all organizations from different sectors and individuals to transition to renewable energy sources. Its mission is to develop energy to make companies more competitive, reduce external dependence and reduce CO2 emissions.
  • Support local companies to a green energy transition: Averta Capital provides a financial option to clients interested in installing solar plants, ensuring the interest of companies in reducing their CO2 emissions and energy costs.

Financial viability

Averta Capital will own the PV solar plant for the first 10 years. During this time, Averta Capital will be invoicing Mecanizados for the photovoltaic energy consumed and when the billing of the amount of energy agreed in the contract is completed, Mecanizados can acquire the central for 1€. After acquiring the central Mecanizados will reduce its electricity bills by 63%.
