e-mpact is a new brand of electric bicycles focused on the importance of promoting sustainable urban mobility. But what sets this project apart is its aim to create the electric bicycle with the least environmental impact (in its supply chain).
The first e-mpact bike - the PR1 - was officially launched at Eurobike in Frankfurt in June this year.
The brand now wants to produce its first 25-30 bikes. This campaign aims to finance orders from suppliers so that e-mpact can begin its market strategy. The funds will be used for:
After receiving the equipment from the suppliers, production of the bikes will be finalized and they will be sold through various marketplace channels already set up by the company.

The total investment for this phase amounts to 180.000€, which will be covered with Goparity funding, support received under the funds approved in the sustainable mobility consortium, and the shareholder's own funds. The funding will allow the company to place the first orders to production and the loan will be paid back with the remaining amount to be received from the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). The promoter has a grant approved by the RRP of up to 115.000€.

Mind Over Body, Unipessoal LDA (M.O.B) is a Portuguese company founded in 2016 in Coimbra, which created the e-mpact brand.
The company is 100% owned by Paulo Fernando Monteiro Rodrigues, who has a long career in the bicycle sector. Paulos has participated in several national and European projects related to two-wheel shared mobility, such as the GIRA bicycles in Lisbon (Lisbon's city bikes).
M.O.B. has a team of 6 specialists in related areas such as transport and mobility, sustainable solutions (mobility impact), development and procurement of e-mpact has developed an electric bicycle model that they want to be "the bicycle with the lowest environmental impact on the market".
The various components of the bike, from the frame to the batteries and other equipment, have been chosen and optimized to maximize performance and comfort and reduce the environmental footprint of production, as well as costs.
Paulo has been in the bicycle sector since 2004 when he was the general director for ABIMOTA (Portugal Bike Value). His training is in Economics and Civil Engineering (Urbanism), he holds a postgraduate in People Management, from the University of Coimbra and an Executive degree called "Paradigm Shift", from Nova SBE. Paulo accompanied the development of shared bike solutions for Paris (phase 1 - JC Decaux) and for Lisbon (Gira). In 2019 he was vice President of CONEBI - European Association of Bicycle Manufacturers and represented WBIA - World Bike Industry Association, with the Inland Transport Committee of the United Nations. Currently he is the President of the Portuguese Technical Commission for Bicycles and a representative in the European and World Standardization Organizations.
e-mpact is a producer and seller of electric bicycles. Its main sales channels are online marketplaces created for the European market.
