Loans granted to the promoter AMÉRICO DUARTE PAIXÃO, LDA by investors will have the following guarantees, provided for in the loan agreements associated with the campaign:

Américo Duarte Paixão, Lda's story begins in the 1940s in the village of Vale da Trave, parish of Alcanede, municipality of Santarém, with Mrs. Celeste Emília da Conceição, who harvested, dried, and stored plants collected in the Serras de Aire e Candeeiros Natural Park (PNSAC). The plants were then sold to the Antiga Ervanária da Anunciada in Lisbon. Before long, large quantities of rosemary leaves were being supplied to Lisbon, Porto, and the USA.
In the 1960s, Américo Duarte Paixão, Mrs. Celeste's son-in-law, joined the company and invested heavily in the business. In 1980, with the arrival of a new generation of family members, the promoter developed the import and export of products. Today, they export to the USA, India, the UK, Germany, Spain, France, and Angola.
The interest in phytotherapy and the growth of scientific research into medicinal plants has allowed the company to continue to grow. Américo Duarte Paixão, which is still located in Vale da Trave, in the PNSAC, holds a Quality Certification from Bureau Veritas, according to the ISO 9001 standard, for the processing, handling, and packaging of medicinal plants.
The promoter's business model is based on growing, producing, drying, processing, and selling medicinal and aromatic plants and herbs. The promoter offers the plants in bulk, packaged or processed into other products such as infusions. The commercial focus is mainly on exports.
