Vila Lussu is a sustainable tourism project under construction at the heart of the Ria Formosa Natural Park (Algarve). They hope to become a reference for neutrality, with energy supplied entirely from renewable sources.

The project is in its final stages and should open its doors in June 2023.

This campaign aims to finance the installation of:

air conditioning equipment,
heat pump for domestic hot water,
alarm system,
control and monitoring equipment for water and energy consumption through an application - SMAPPEE.

With this investment, Vila Lussu will have an energetic classification A+, the highest certification standard, reaching an estimated footprint of 0.4 t CO2 per year.

Improving the building's energy efficiency and reducing energy consumption: installing the equipment to increase the building's energy efficiency and thermal comfort, such as a heat pump for domestic hot water, the most efficient and economical alternative for heating water, motion detectors for effective lighting control, an air conditioning system with the highest level of efficiency, and an energy management system that allows real-time monitoring of energy consumption throughout the building.

Supporting environmentally conscious businesses: the hotel is already certified with energy class A+, the most efficient on the Adene scale. With the features of fully renewable energy consumption from own generation, domestic hot water, and space heating and cooling, they will become 100% more efficient than the minimum conditions required for new buildings.

Castanheira e Teixeira, Lda, is the company behind the venture Vila Lussu.

In the heart of the Ria Formosa natural park, next to wonderful beaches in the Algarve, Villa Lussu aims to position itself as a reference in the context of Sustainable and Decarbonized accommodation in Portugal. Its goal is to join a very small number of accommodations in the Algarve with the Greenkey certification, an international sustainability award of world reference for the tourism sector.

In a typical beach destination, Villa Lussu offers more than this, including a tailor-made experience for each client, focusing on our relationship to nature and culture. The range includes a pool without chlorine treatment, electric bike rides, wine tastings, cultural visits, and meals made with products from the organic vegetable garden, among others.

The house is located in a natural landscape setting, with autochthonous species and reduced water consumption, with an energy supply 100% based on renewable sources of energy, high-performance HVAC and domesStic hot water heating systems, and an advanced management and consumption monitoring system, resulting in a high level of comfort and performance. The A+ 0% energy certification corresponds to less than 1% of the buildings nationwide.
