SOLVasto will install a photovoltaic power plant with a capacity of 142 kWp at the Sport Algés and Dafundo (SAD) club which will produce 230 MWh of solar energy per year. As a non-profit club, this project will enable SAD to achieve greater financial sustainability, which is extremely important in ensuring its success, and to set an example for thousands of young people by adopting clean and renewable energy technology.


What is the impact?

Direct:

  • The estimated annual production is 230 MWh of clean energy, enough to cover 50% of their current consumption in natural gas. The project has an environmental impact equivalent to the reduction of the energy consumption of 98 Portuguese families.

SOLVASTO provides services for photovoltaic installations and energy efficiency projects, managing the global process from the engineering, licensing, financing, acquisition, monitoring, maintenance and operation of photovoltaic systems.

SOLVASTO was created at the end of 2016 to meet the growing demand, by investing / financing entities, for projects in the area of energy efficiency and for services such as independent quality control, monitoring, and maintenance of photovoltaic systems.

Currently, it has 4 employees, the company has already participated in the development, licensing, installation, maintenance, and operation of more than 30 MWp, which produces more than 40 GWh / year, which avoids the emission of around 6,000 tons of CO2 per year. Since 2018 he also started his activity in the e-mobility area, having participated in the largest private installation in Portugal with more than 1,000 parking spaces prepared to receive electric chargers.

In 2018, SOLVASTO financed two projects through Goparity (Amigos da Natação and Sport Algés e Dafundo) and in 2020, the company was the installer on the project Solar Social Village, solar energy for self-consumption at Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Borba.

In 2021, the company intends to increase its number of employees and foresees an increase in turnover of about 20% compared to the previous year (having already been over 50% in 2020 compared to 2019), despite the current climate caused by the uncertainty of the pandemic.
