The aim of this campaign is to finance a photovoltaic plant for self-consumption at Origine Portugal, Unipessoal Lda, a small clothing factory in Matosinhos, in the north of Portugal. The photovoltaic plant will have a total of 9,00 kW of installed power, which will allow it to produce 10 MWh of clean energy per year.

Escolha Solar, a company with more than 15 years of experience in providing energy services will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of the solar panels.

What is the impact?

Contributing to the decarbonization of the economy, helping to avoid the emission of CO2: with an estimated clean energy production of 10 MWh, the solar plant will help avoid the emission of 1.34 tonnes of CO2 per year, the equivalent to planting 61 trees.
Cost reduction for the final client: the decentralized energy production through renewable sources, close to the consumption site, helps to avoid distribution costs, making this a more competitive option than reverting to the national grid. Furthermore, the decreased dependency of the company on the national grid, makes it less vulnerable to price fluctuations and fiscal charges.

About the Promoter

ORIGINE PORTUGAL, UNIPESSOAL, LDA

Created in 2015, Origine Portugal, Unipessoal Lda was born from the accumulated management and industry experience of its founder, who gave life to her passion for fashion by creating a small unit with 18 people.

The four-story building where Origine develops its activity is owned by the only owner of the company. Twenty solar panels will be installed on the building's roof, with an installed power of 9,0 kW for self-consumption of the factory.

On a side note, Origine offers leftover materials to one of our past promoters - Ethical Choice - a Portuguese brand of footwear, accessories, and other articles. Ethical choice uses waste from the footwear, cork, and textile industries in the development of products such as sandals, slippers, backpacks, wallets, pencil holders, "pocket empties", among others. Origine is also responsible for the design and cutting of Ethical Choice products.
