What will you be financing?

Radica (formerly operating as Alberami) is a technology company active in the carbon credit market, created through the merger of the Italian company Alberami and Esférico, a Spanish agri-tech and environmental services company specialized in regenerative agriculture. Radica develops nature-based carbon credit initiatives by working directly with farmers, agrifood companies, retailers, and public institutions across Italy and Spain to restore soils, regenerate land, and assess environmental performance.

Rather than simply trading carbon credits, Radica develops projects end-to-end, from scientific measurement and soil restoration to certification and commercialisation. To strengthen its presence and deliver on its growth strategy, the company operates through its Spanish affiliate, Esférico. Based in Murcia, Esférico serves as the promoter of this project, providing advanced MRV (Measurement, Reporting and Verification) capabilities that combine field data collection, geospatial analysis, and digital monitoring tools to accelerate the transition towards more sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural systems.

The funds raised through this campaign will support the company's growth and the launch of new soil carbon sequestration and land regeneration projects. These initiatives require significant upfront investment, from farmer onboarding and field assessments to certification activities, while carbon credits are only issued and commercialised several years later. This creates a natural timing gap between project implementation and revenue generation.

Approximately 70-80% of the funds raised will be allocated to the working capital required to bridge this gap and maintain operational continuity. The remaining 20-30% will be invested in expanding Alberami's activities in Spain through Esférico, including project sourcing, farmer engagement, and commercial development.

Alberami's projects are carried out with farmers who adopt regenerative agricultural practices that improve soil health and enhance carbon sequestration capacity. The company uses its proprietary MRV technology, acquired through Esférico, to monitor the evolution of each project site and ensure the quality and integrity of every carbon credit. Once certified, these credits are purchased by European companies looking for high-quality, nature-based carbon removal and sequestration solutions.

This project contributes to the regeneration of agricultural land, the adoption of sustainable farming practices, and the creation of high-integrity carbon credits, further strengthening the impact of Alberami and Esférico across southern Europe.

What is the impact?

Improving financial health of food producers: introducing carbon credit markets to the agricultural sector directly strengthens the economic resilience of small-scale food producers by unlocking a new revenue stream. Traditionally, a farmer's income is heavily dependent on crop yields and volatile commodity market prices. By enrolling in an ecosystem services platform, farmers are financially compensated for the carbon sequestered on their lands, effectively turning environmental stewardship into a harvestable asset.

Implementing sustainable and resilient food production systems: the generation of carbon credits requires the adoption of regenerative and climate-smart agricultural practices. Esférico actively supports farmers in designing and implementing tailored production strategies that enhance both environmental and economic outcomes. These strategies incorporate practices such as cover cropping, reduced tillage, and the reduction of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides.

Esférico has identified 13 measurable and certifiable regenerative agricultural practices capable of generating verified carbon credits while delivering tangible value to farmers. Over the past four years, Alberami (mother company) has issued 84.000 carbon credits (with each credit representing one tonne of CO₂).

Promoting integrated water management and conservation strategies: soils managed under carbon sequestration protocols undergo significant structural improvements. Increases in soil organic matter enhance the soil’s water-holding capacity, improving its ability to retain moisture and withstand periods of drought. Carbon-rich soils function as natural sponges, increasing rainwater infiltration and retention, reducing dependence on intensive irrigation, and minimizing nutrient runoff into local water systems.

Creation of jobs opportunities: this campaign is financing the expansion of Esférico’s operations and will therefore lead to the creation of job opportunities. The company forecasts to hire 50 more people throughout this expansion to which this campaign will contribute to approximately 10%.

Increasing the amount of land under sustainable management: Esférico originates, structures, and commercializes carbon credits generated through reforestation, afforestation, and land restoration projects, primarily in Italy and Spain. In addition to promoting regenerative agricultural practices, all projects adhere to internationally recognized quality standards, including:

  • Additionality – ensuring that carbon benefits exceed what would have occurred under a business-as-usual scenario;
  • Permanence – requiring that sequestered carbon remains stored in soil or biomass for a significant period, with a minimum commitment of 15 years for Esferico’s partner projects;
  • Robust Measurement and Verification – utilizing soil sampling, geochemical modeling, satellite imagery, and IoT-based monitoring systems to quantify carbon sequestration accurately;
  • Traceability – ensuring that every carbon credit can be tracked throughout its entire lifecycle.

The proposed financing will strengthen Esférico’s operational capacity, enabling the expansion of its project portfolio and increasing the total number of hectares managed under rigorous, verifiable sustainability standards.

One of the principal challenges facing voluntary carbon markets is the risk of overstating carbon sequestration outcomes. Esferico has implemented a robust framework to mitigate this risk and ensure the integrity of its carbon credits. All projects apply the VM0042 methodology, a widely recognized Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) framework developed by Verra. In addition, projects receive independent quality assessments from BeZero and are verified by accredited third-party Validation and Verification Bodies (VVBs). These measures provide transparency, credibility, and confidence in the environmental impact of the credits generated.

About the Promoter

About
Esférico MRV Systems SL

Esférico is a Spanish company that helps farmers and landowners adopt regenerative land‑management practices and turn those improvements into verified environmental assets, such as carbon credits. The company identifies suitable land, works with farmers to implement soil‑health and restoration measures, and collects the data needed to quantify how much carbon the land is storing.

Esférico’s core activities include project sourcing, farmer onboarding, and technical monitoring of land‑restoration efforts. It uses in‑house MRV (Monitoring, Reporting and Verification) technology to measure soil improvements and track carbon storage, ensuring that each project meets international certification standards.

The company is part of the Alberami group (currently rebranding to Radica), an Italian environmental‑asset company focused on reforestation, afforestation, and soil‑carbon projects. Through this integration, Esférico combines local market knowledge with the group’s technical expertise in project origination, carbon‑credit structuring, and certification under international standards.

The company also strengthens the group’s capabilities through in‑house MRV (Monitoring, Reporting and Verification) technology, which improves project sourcing, land monitoring, and data accuracy. This technology‑enabled approach allows Esférico to support a growing network of farmers and landowners adopting regenerative practices across Spain.

With its combination of technical monitoring, farmer engagement, and market access, Esférico plays a central role in expanding nature‑based carbon solutions and supporting the group’s growth in the voluntary carbon market.
