Boil Fest is an annual festival held in the Serralves Park in Porto, bringing together contemporary art, science, education, and climate action. The festival promotes critical thinking, climate literacy, and civic participation, engaging artists, scientists, schools, cultural institutions, and the general public.

Since its creation, it has sought to establish itself as an ecosystem of positive impact, where exhibitions, performances, film, talks, and educational activities coexist within a responsible, inclusive, and environmentally conscious production model.
The funds raised in this campaign aim to finance the 2026 edition, covering essential production costs while sponsorships and public funding are still pending. The amount raised will allow the event’s production to move forward and support its international expansion.
The funds will be allocated to the festival’s working capital, including:
The festival runs for four days, with additional periods for setup and dismantling, involving dozens of professionals and suppliers.
The 2025 edition welcomed 70.000 visitors and reached a total audience of 6,5 million people, reinforcing the festival’s role as a platform for awareness and public engagement around climate challenges.

Access to sustainability education and culture: Boil Festival is an innovative way to talk about sustainability with the aim to spread it through art, with exhibitions, interactive experiences, workshops and masterclasses specializing in science, climate, innovation, and the future. The festival has created a program for schools to enhance consciousness to the younger generation, involving thirty school classes, and a total of 750 students expected to participate. Situated in Porto, Portugal, Boil will expand to other parks and foundations in Europe, disseminating the idea that a green future is possible, making people aware and positively influencing their habits.
Enhancing creativity and sense of community: Serralves’s park will be the location for showing the exhibitions of fifty five artists and where they will be hosted in an artistic residency, creating an artistic piece for the festival, connecting for art and the fight against climate change. In addition, Boil is a moment to connect and develop sense of community through many activities and experiences, transmitting the message of climate adaptation, scientific literacy, and cultural ecology to be scaled up for international audiences.
Creation of partnerships for a shared mission: The festival is made possible through a strong partnership network built on a shared vision with Porto University, Porto Natural History Museum, Turismo de Portugal and private partnerships that support the mission of promoting a new way to talk about sustainability and mitigate climate change. With the expansion of partnerships with scientific centers, Boil’s exhibitions will tour around Portugal for six months in five Centros Ciência Viva and other countries.
