Decarbonizing Colombia VI

This campaign is one of several to fund the installation of photovoltaic plants in 17 organizations in Colombia.  

Direct environmental impact

• Contribution to the decarbonization in Colombia, avoiding CO2 emission: The whole operation is estimated to produce 4.650,57 MWh of clean and renewable energy per year, avoiding the emission of 1.934,02 tons of CO2 annually, the equivalent to planting 87.910 trees. 
  • This campaign will be responsible to fund the production of 406,92 MWh of clean energy per year and avoid the emission of 169,23 tons of CO2 annually. This would be equivalent to planting more than 7692 trees. 
• Cost reduction for the final clients: the decentralised energy production through renewable sources, close to the consumption site, helps to avoid distribution costs, making this a more competitive option than reverting to the national grid. Furthermore, the decreased dependency of the company on the national grid, makes it less vulnerable to price fluctuations and fiscal charges. It is estimated by Recap that the energy costs are reduced between 5% and 30% for their end-clients in Colombia. 
• Support reduction of energy consumption: through providing services for improvements in energy efficiency use, Recap allows the companies to operate in a more efficient way, allowing around 50% reduction of energy consumption from the grid. 

Indirect Impact 

• Promotion of solar decentralized energy: with its Solar Funds, Recap enables smaller organizations of many different sectors to transition to renewable energy sources. Through decentralized photovoltaic centrals, the organizations are less dependent on the national grid and improve the country’s clean energy consumption participation. 
• Support local companies: Recap partners with Colombian installers, providing them a financial option to clients interested in installing the solar plants. They ensure the companies are aligned with Recap’s values and apply screening criteria for the potential clients. Afterwards Recap makes its own financial and credit analysis. 

O Recap Solar Fund II AB é uma subsidiária do Recap Energy, uma organização criada com a missão de unir capital institucional a projetos rentáveis de energia renovável a nível global, contribuindo assim para um futuro mais sustentável.

A Recap foi fundada em 2010 funcionando inicialmente como uma empresa de consultoria na área das finanças sustentáveis. A empresa tem-se desenvolvido no sentido de oferecer Energia solar como um Serviço (EaaS - Energy as a Service) e soluções para clientes C&I (Comércio e Industria) desde 2016.

Com uma equipa técnica em Tenerife, a Recap começou por lançar os seus serviços EaaS em Espanha. Inicialmente os projetos estavam focados nas Ilhas Canárias, mas rapidamente a empresa expandiu para Espanha continental e Portugal.

O crescimento da empresa foi continuado com a criação de várias subsidiárias, a Colombiana e Nórdica em 2018, a Brasileira em 2019 e a Indiana em 2020. Todas estas subsidiárias oferecem soluções de energia solar semelhantes, gerindo fundos para investimento em sistemas fotovoltaicos, que são instalados nos telhados dos seus clientes.

A Recap está em constante crescimento geográfico, ampliando a sua gama de oferta para alcançar novos mercados. A empresa tem procurado diversificar as suas fontes e tecnologias de produção e armazenamento de energia. A Recap oferece vários produtos e opções financeiras aos seus clientes. A Recap conta com três mulheres acionistas e uma mulher entre os membros do conselho administrativo.

• Colômbia - Montagem no solo: 43 MW, C&I / Produção distribuída: 20,13 MW
• Espanha - Montagem no solo: 25 MW, C&I 19,1 MW 
• Brasil - C&I / Geração distribuída: 0,49 MW
• Índia - C&I: 0,05

Atualmente, a Recap tem 118 clientes distribuídos por Espanha, Portugal, Suécia, India e América Latina. A dimensão dos projetos nos telhados varia entre 10 kWp e 5MWp.

A empresa fornece serviços energéticos diversificados, desde mobilidade elétrica, a sistemas de armazenamento de energia ou sistemas de gestão energética.

A Recap emprega 51 pessoas das quais nove trabalham na Colômbia.
