About Goparity

Goparity is an impact investment platform whose main mission is to democratize access to sustainable finance. The platform connects companies and individuals who want to invest ethically, with an interest, in projects with a positive impact on people and the planet. We are growing, both in terms of size and impact generated. We were born in Portugal in 2017 but have since then financed projects and grown a large community of investors all around the world. In January 2024 we were granted a license to operate without limitations in all of Europe, we are looking for smart creative people who want to take part in our mission to democratize the financial sector, for the good of people and our planet.


WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Someone who is excited to research the social and environmental performance of the projects we fund, assessing and processing information, dealing with indicators and metrics in a objective and methodological manner, and supporting in other projects of the Impact Department. We expect you to be a team player, eager to work in a startup collaborative environment, and to be constantly learning while taking full responsibility for the tasks you develop.

We are looking for someone who holds a bachelor’s degree in Management or a similar field and is ready to embrace our mission.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will be reporting directly to our Impact Manager and the duration of this internship is 6 months.


Key responsibilities

  • Support in projects’ impact assessment. We want to evaluate the potential impact of different project proposals in an early stage in the negotiation process.
  • Standardize and streamline impact screening processes, in collaboration with our Commercial team. 
  • Processing of impact data and metrics on the project and portfolio levels.
  • Support in impact monitoring, preparation of surveys and processing of data.
  • Organizing, and automating department processes and documentation. We want all our processes and information to be easily accessible and replicable. 
  • Support in implementing impact methodology improvements. We are constantly improving, and you can take part in implementing the changes in our impact methodology. 


ABOUT YOU

Mandatory

  • You are eligible for an IEFP internship (https://www.iefp.pt/estagios?tab=estagios-talento). Please note you must be have Portuguese residency or your diploma must be validated by a Portuguese institution (i.e. university).
  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in Management or a similar field.
  • You are fluent in English. We are an English-first company. 
  • You are fluent in Portuguese and/or Spanish. Although this is changing, most of our clients are Portuguese and it will be important for you to be able to communicate with promoters when assessing their projects. 
  • You are passionate about impact and know the basics of impact evaluation
  • You enjoy dealing with numbers and writing content. We need someone who can deal with quantitative and qualitative data and who can keep an overview of over 300 funded projects’ impact information.
  • You know your way around Office tools and can work on it independently. 
  • You like organizing and are a great communicator, you might have to contact several of our promoters, and we need someone who likes to reach out. 
  • You show initiative, are reliable, and committed.
  • You are goal-oriented; a strong problem solver and have a solution-oriented mindset.
  • You are curious and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • You like working as part of a team but can work autonomously and be self-driven.

 

Bonus points for

  • You have cultural fit with Goparity’s mission and are share our mission about social and environmental issues. 
  • Experience in with Impact measurement and management systems (IMM).
  • Knowledge and/or experience in impact measurement methodologies. 
  • You know your way around financial concepts. 
  • Experience in the start-up world. 
  • Experience in banking and/or finance sectors.

Salary range

Your monthly salary will range from 1.149,50€ to 1.358,50€ gross, depending on your qualifications, plus a 10,20€ food allowance per working day (approximately 214€ per month). 


Workplace

We are remote flexible (even before covid) – maximum liberty comes with full responsibility. We are based in Wonder Work (Bairro Azul) in Lisbon and have a desk in Barcelona, but you can work from home. We have one mandatory in-presence meeting, happening every quarter in Lisbon.


HIRING PROCESS

The stages for this hiring process are:

  • CV Screening.
  • Screening interview (~15min).
  • Case study/Challenge.
  • Interview with your manager (~45min).
