Solar energy plant for self-consumption at XLUX, a cooling company.

Descripción

The aim of this campaign is to finance a photovoltaic plant for self-consumption at XLUX, a company which is dedicated to the sale and installation of industrial and hospital ventilation and cooling systems, and to provide technical assistance to industrial cooling systems. The plant will have 100 photovoltaic panels, and a total installer power of 40kWp.


The installation and operation of the solar panels will be carried out by Luz Verde, a Portuguese company with over 10 years of experience in the provision of energy services, and which has financed five projects with GoParity: Intermarché Solar I and II, Tintas Solares Felgueiras, Solar Car Wash e Solarize Cuba.

El impacto

  • Contributing to the decarbonization of the economy, helping to avoid the emission of CO2: with an estimated clean energy production of 73,2 MWh, the solar plant will help avoid the emission of 14,9 tons of CO2 per year, the equivalent to planting 675 trees.


  • Cost reduction for the final client: the decentralised energy production through renewable sources, close to the consumption site, helps to avoid distribution costs, making this a more competitive option than reverting to the national grid. Furthermore, the decrease dependency of the company on the national grid, makes it less vulnerable to price fluctuations and fiscal charges.


In addition to this, at the end of each project, the promoter carries out one of the initiatives mentioned below, in line with its corporate social and environmental responsibility and the client’s desire:


  • 5€ donation to a non-profit social institution based in the client’s area and of their choice, for each installed kW;


  • Planting of trees with a 2cm caliber, for each kW installed, and in a location chosen by the client;


  • Implementation of a solar photovoltaic plant with a nominal power of 1% of that of the plant installed in the project, at an entity, institution or association based in the same area as the project’s.

Viabilidad Financiera

The PV plant will have a useful life of 30 years with a guaranteed production of over 80%, and will generate monthly savings of 875.30€ in electricity costs, which guarantees the sustainability of the project. 


The company obtained total revenues of 361.283.00€ and 858.601.09€ in 2019 and 2020 respectively.

XLUX was founded in 2019 by Amaro Jorge da Silva and Carla Ribeiro Pinto and is based in the Council of Porto and is active in the manufacture, repair and maintenance of non-domestic cooling and ventilation equipment. The company currently employees 7 people in Port and two in Lisbon.

XLUX owns the Frilux and Vadis brands, and will soon incorporate the Frilux Empress brand.
