This campaign's promoter is a family-run company that produces packaging and packaging solutions for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.

The funds raised through this campaign aim to:

replace the factory's current roof, which is made of uralite, an element that is harmful to humans and will be banned in a few years by the Spanish government,
introduce green energy production and consumption through a photovoltaic installation to take advantage of the sun's clean energy.

Replacing the roof and installing photovoltaics will save energy and guarantee safer working conditions for the health of its workers.

The installer of the project will be Quercus Desarrollo de Proyectos SL, a company with over 11 years of activity. Quercus Desarrollo de Proyectos SL offers renewable energy projects to its clients. Their aim is to promote positive social, environmental, and cultural change.

¿Cuál es el impacto?

Contribution to the decarbonization of the economy, avoiding CO2 emissions: with an estimated clean energy production of 80,92 MWh per year, the solar plant will avoid the emission of 11.09 tons of CO2 per year, equivalent to the planting of 504 trees.

Cost reduction: the decentralized energy production through renewable sources, close to the consumption site, helps to avoid distribution costs, making this a more competitive option than reverting to the national grid. Furthermore, the decreased dependency of the company on the national grid, makes it less vulnerable to price fluctuations and fiscal charges.

Improving the health and well-being of workers: the removal of the asbestos roof at the factory has direct health benefits for everyone who works in the building. The use of asbestos in buildings has been banned in the European Union since 2005 and its presence has been associated with cases of cancer and other lung diseases, due to the inhalation of its fibers. The removal of asbestos from the roof must be performed by technicians and specialized companies so that safety is guaranteed.
