The aim of this campaign is to fund two photovoltaic plants for self-consumption at the Praia da Rocha Club, Portugal’s largest condominium located at Praia da Rocha beach in Portimão, Algarve.

The Praia da Rocha Club was built in 1986 and renewed in 2005. The property is located 10 kilometers away from the Alcalar Megalithic site. It was recently converted to housing, being the largest condominium in Portugal, with 627 apartments. The photovoltaic modules will be installed on the roof of two of the hotel group buildings, through a gravity installation without the need for drilling, maximizing the existing space in order to reduce the effects of shadows caused by the equipment installed there, as shown in the image below.

The plants will have a total installed power of 46 kWh, producing an average of 82.3 MWh of clean energy per year.

SOLVASTO, a Portuguese energy services company, will be the promoter of the project, as well as the owner of the panels during the first years. In addition to this, it will ensure the installation and operation of the plant.

Direct:

Contribution to the decarbonisation of the economy: with an estimated production of 82.3 MWh of clean energy per year, the two solar plants will avoid the emission of 16.7 tons of CO2 per year, equivalent to the CO2 absorption capacity of 759 trees.

Indirect:

Raising awareness about sustainability in the community of owners, tourists, workers and customers.

SOLVASTO presta servicios para instalaciones fotovoltaicas y proyectos de eficiencia energética con un enfoque holístico, yendo desde el proceso de ingeniería hasta el licenciamiento y pasando por el financiamiento, acompañamiento, adquisición, mantenimiento y operación de los sistemas fotovoltaicos.

SOLVASTO fue creada a finales de 2016 para atender la creciente demanda, por parte de las entidades de financiamiento/inversión, por proyectos en la área de eficiencia energética y por servicios como el control de calidad independiente, monitorización y mantenimiento de sistemas fotovoltaicos.

La empresa, que cuenta con 4 colaboradores, ya participo en el licenciamiento, instalación mantenimiento y operación de más de 30 MWp, que producen más de 40 GWh/año, los cuales evitan la emisión de alrededor de 6.000 toneladas de CO2 por año. Desde 2018 también se iniciaron actividades en el área de movilidad eléctrica, habiendo participado en la mayor instalación existente en Portugal con más de 1.000 puestos de estacionamiento preparados para recibir carros eléctricos.

En 2018, SOLVASTO financió dos proyectos a través de Goparity (Amigos da Natação y Sport Algés e Dafundo) y en 2020 fue el instalador del proyecto Solar Social Village, energía solar para autoconsumo en la Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Borba.

Em 2021, a empresa pretende aumentar o seu número de colaboradores e prevê um aumento de faturação de cerca de 20% face ao ano anterior (tendo sido já sido superior a 50% em 2020 face a 2019), apesar do atual clima provocado pela incerteza da pandemia.
