About this webinar

Right now, investing with Goparity means lending: you choose a vetted, impactful project to invest in, and get repaid with interest over time. Equity investing takes it a step further. Instead of only lending money to a business, you can now invest in a company earlier in its growth and become a shareholder in what it goes on to achieve.

It's a bigger commitment than lending. There's no fixed interest rate, no repayment schedule, and no guaranteed date when you'll see your money again. In exchange, you get a direct stake in a company's growth, and in the impact it creates as it scales.

In this session, Marta, our Head of Equity, walks you through what it really means to become a shareholder: how a company's valuation is set, what a share is worth, how and when a return might happen, and what risk you're taking on. Marta brings extensive equity crowdfunding expertise to Goparity, through the integration of Bolsa Social, the first platform authorised by Spain's regulator for impact focused equity crowdfunding, which is now part of Goparity.

Bring your questions. Marta will answer them live.

This webinar is for you, if you:

  • Already invest with Goparity through lending and want to understand how equity investing works alongside it
  • Are curious about holding shares in an impact driven company, not just lending to one
  • Want valuation, dilution and exit explained in plain language, along with an honest look at what happens if a company doesn't succeed

What you will learn in this webinar

1
Lending vs equity, side by side
What you'd own, how a return would work, and how long your money would be tied up either way.
2
How a company's valuation is set
What a share in a company is actually worth, and how that number gets decided.
3
What counts as an impact company
How Goparity assesses whether a business is impact driven, and why that matters for equity investors too.
4
The risks of equity
We'll talk about risk openly, because understanding the downside is part of understanding the investment.
